Full installation package

Download install_vmlab315.exe (~4.5 Mbytes) :

Start download   Click on the CD_ROM
  • IMPORTANT: uninstall first any previous release of VMLAB (use Add/Remove programs in Windows Control Panel) 
  • Run Install_VMLAB315.exe, it will install VMLAB 3.15 in your computer.

Interactive training and  other documents

Open Source library with useful components, including AVR-Studio stimulus converter/logger, VMLAB to physical serial COM interface, LED 7 segments, WAV signal player/recorder, Verilog interface, etc. This library comes with the VMLAB installation, but the given link always will have the last upgrade, new components, etc

New AVR Peripheral Models The linked site will have the last update of a new collection of user-defined external AVR models (starting with the ATMega168).

Visit also the 'Contributors' section in our Forum. It is a user components repository with cells created by the VMLAB users community. A Graphic LCD model (KS0108B based) is available here among other components.

 

General issues / Notes

Note for ST62 users. Windows (and VMLAB) support long names in filenames and directories, but VMLAB relies also on 3rd party tools: assemblers, compilers, etc, which might not support long names; this is the case for ST62. Therefore, if you use this micro:

  • Folow the 8.3 rule for files/directories (8 chars max name; 3 chars max extension)
  • Use the default installation directory: C:\VMLAB. If this name is not good, use other with the 8.3 rule. Do not install it in C:\Program Files\

The AVR assembler does support long names, but VMLAB's default  behavior is to follow the 8.3 rule , which is the safest option. To change this, use the 'Options | Code Maker' menu.

Do not use spaces in filenames, even if Windows allows it.

To evaluate VMLAB, we recommend you to try the examples included in AVR_DEMO, WinAVRdemo and ST6_DEMO directories. There is a step-by-step tutorial in the C:\VMLAB\TUTORIAL directory.
